Atlantic Beach, SC is a small town located in Horry County, South Carolina. It is part of the Grand Strand tourist region. According to the 2010 census, the town’s population was 334. Much of the land surrounding the town has been annexed into the city of North Myrtle Beach.

The town was a booming African-American destination during the 1960s, but today there are very few hotels or motels left. Despite this, the city’s council and redevelopment corporation are working to revitalize the town. One of the biggest events held in town is the Atlantic Beach Bike Fest, which attracts more than 250,000 bikers each Memorial Day weekend. The town also has an active historical society that is working to raise its profile.

While the town of Atlantic Beach is relatively small, its unique history makes it unique. While the town is not as popular as neighboring Myrtle Beach, it is still very beautiful and a wonderful place to visit and do business. Although its population is relatively small, Atlantic Beach has a long, sandy beach that is popular all year round.

The town was originally founded as a summer destination for African-American families and was nicknamed the Black Pearl. Today, many of the residents of Atlantic Beach are descendants of the Gullah Geechee people, who migrated to coastal regions from West Africa. These descendants of slaves worked in the tourist industry and opened a number of businesses. They created a resort-like environment. Because of this, property values in the area increased.

While the town of Atlantic Beach SC has suffered a decline in its population, there is hope for revitalization. A large number of people of color and some white people have moved to the town in the past decade. The revitalization of the town is energetic and pushes for a brighter future while maintaining its quaint roots. New rental properties have popped up and many old homes have been converted into second homes.                                                        

Tyson encouraged other African-Americans to buy plots near his original property and to build businesses in it. He later purchased 49 more acres adjacent to his original property. The buyers of these plots included many African-Americans, including factory workers and doctors. Many were of the Gullah-Geechee descent, who brought a unique culture to the beachfront. During the 1940s and 1950s, the town grew dramatically.

If you’re looking for a more nature-centric experience, you’ll find plenty of wildlife watching and walking trails. One of the best ways to observe nature in its natural habitat is to take a stroll along the beach. The area has several popular beaches, including Windy Hill Beach and Crescent Beach. If you’re interested in bird watching, be sure to take the time to visit Heritage Shores Nature Preserve.

The town is also near the airport, making it accessible for those who travel by plane. The Myrtle Beach International Airport is located 30 minutes away, offering non-stop flights to 29 markets. The airport is also accessible by taxi and Uber services. Alternatively, you can take the $5 daily bus service operated by the Coastal Regional Transportation Authority.
